The only series I am obsessed about this summer

As some of my close friends and family know, I am a big fan of the Korean hit series, Descendants of the Sun. The show stars Song Joong-ki as Captain Yoo Shi-Jin and Song Hye-Kyo as Doctor Kang Mo-yeon. The series is basically about a beautiful headstrong doctor who volunteers along with her staff in a place called Urk. (I'm assuming this place is somewhere near Pakistan). Doctor Kang eventually falls for Captain Yoo Shi-Jin, whom she met earlier in an incident before she volunteered in Urk, only to find out that Captain Yoo Shi-Jin is also posted in the same area where Doctor Kang volunteers. Thus, their amazing yet dangerous love story begins to unfold in each episode.
I honestly did not expect to have developed a liking towards the series when I watched the second episode. (The first one lacked sparks for me, sorry!) But nevertheless, I really got hooked and binge-watched all 10 episodes in 1 day. As soon as I was about to load the 10th episode, I realized how long I had the same obsession over one hit Korean series before, Boys Over Flowers. Remember them?

Up to this day, Kim Bum is still my favorite. The series was personally great for some time at the first 3 to 6 episodes, but the typical "poor girl meets rich boy" and "best friend love triangle" became a drag for me. But in the end, I still finished the series. I was eventually curious if Jandi would end up with Lee Min Ho.
Korean series will probably have a little part in my heart, since I am so picky about series and how the characters develop from start to end. But somehow, Descendants of the Sun definitely got my attention this summer because of the great development of their love story. I personally find their story not typical because time and different circumstances helped create a strong plot not only for the two main lovers, but for the other supporting characters as well. I can't expound so much on the plot twists of the series, cuz i don't wanna be a spoiler, But if you do plan to watch it, I'd definitely recommend it.
I rate it as 9 out of 10 stars.
