Enjoying the views infront of the beach at Dahican, Mati

If you live in the Philippines, you'd instantly get the idea that summer is beach season. A time where people come out to relax in an amazing resort or simply take an island hopping day trip. Summer is one of my favorite times of the year, other than Christmas, because each year I get to have a beach or swimming trip with my family and friends. Last year, my friends and I only had a beach trip once, but this year, 2 great swimming trips have been done with my family.

The first beach trip I had this summer was with my dad and brother in Dahican, Mati.

Who doesn't love these wonderful shades of blue? This was actually my first trip to Dahican beach. Dahican beach is just a long strip of different resorts facing the same beach, much like the beaches in Boracay. The waves of the beach were quite strong because of the great winds coming from the open sea. It made it impossible for my brother and I to swim farther from the shoreline with the sand that felt like quick sand. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay at Kalapyahan resort and managed to explore around the area.

The second great beach trip I took was during the post birthday celebration of my close tito. Our family planned on taking an island hopping trip around Samal island. We celebrated his birthday on a Sunday, and the pier near Magsaysay Park was definitely full parked cars, boats filled tourists and vendors selling hats and sunglasses. Almost all my family including close relatives, finally met up by the boat that was being rented. We then loaded the packed food and set sail on our adventure.

We swam in 3 different locations around the island, and had lunch and snacks in between each trip.

The best location was the second one which had plenty of corals and tiny fishes. I was actually quite surprised to discover that most of the corals were in different shades of peach, nude and brown. It was definitely relaxing to see these combinations juxtaposed the blue hues of water.

The two trips were definitely fun, full of food and fantastic!
